Doris June Gaunt Cutright

Doris June Gaunt Cutright, 87, of Akron, OH, formerly of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with her loving family in attendance. Born January 21, 1938, in Upshur County, WV, daughter of the late David Hazelton and Donice Opal Curry Gaunt, she was married to her loving husband, Doyle Z. Cutright for 56 years, before he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Jean and Denise Renee, one son, David Charles Cutright, and two brothers, Kemp N. Gaunt and Harold Berry.

Doris is survived by her loving family: daughters Debra Yost of Florida, Angela Delaney and Darla Cutright of Ohio; three grandchildren, Patrick (Danielle) and Noah Delaney, and Jennifer Yost; one great-grandchild, Conor Delaney; two brothers, Harry (Wilma) Gaunt and Gary (Cheryl) Gaunt, both of Buckhannon; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Doris was an avid reader her entire life. She was a big Nascar fan and loved to travel all over, but especially to the beach. She was always ready to try something new. Doris enjoyed all these things, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was thoughtful and kind, beautiful inside and out, and will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel, where the funeral will begin at 12:00 PM with Doris’s brother Gary Gaunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery at Kanawha Head.
