Donald G. Burnside

Donald G. Burnside, 88, of Rock Cave passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.  He was born March 23, 1932, in Upshur County a son of the late Doyle and Hettie Marie Davidson Burnside.

He is survived by his wife Bertha Pickens Brown Burnside, two stepsons:  Michael and Richard Brown both of Rock Cave; six grandsons and eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; best friends Fred Harris and Jimmy Cogar.

In addition to his father and mother he was preceded in death by one daughter Tandra Jo Burnside; two sisters:  Helen Marie Burnside and Betty Burnside Snyder; four brothers:  Robert, Bill, Basil, and Junior Burnside.

Donald served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He retired as a school bus driver and was also retired as the former owner of the B & B Mart at Rock Cave.

The family has honored his request for cremation and graveside services will be held at a later date at the Salem Ridge Cemetery.
