Davis Medical Center welcomes first baby of the new year

Davis Medical Center’s Family Birth Center welcomed its first New Year’s baby on Jan. 1: Olivia Ann Mae Howell, born at 8:22 a.m., 7 lbs. 4 oz. and 18 3/4 inches. Parents Amanda and Brandon Howell celebrated the moment with Dr. Richard Enchill.

The Vandalia Health Family Birth Center at Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the new year Wednesday morning.

Baby girl Olivia Ann Mae Howell arrived Jan. 1 at 8:22 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 18 3/4 inches long.

“We are very excited and honored for Olivia to be celebrated as a New Year’s baby,” said parents Amanda and Brandon Howell of Elkins.

Richard Enchill, MD, was on call at the Family Birth Center and delivered baby Olivia.

“We are delighted to welcome the first New Year’s baby for the Vandalia Health Family Birth Center at Davis Medical Center,” Enchill said. “We wish all our special families a happy and healthy new year.”

The Family Birth Center staff presented the Howell family with a special gift basket including baby items and gift cards. The gift basket was provided by the United Women in Faith group at First United Methodist Church in Elkins.
