David James Farry

David James Farry, of Buckhannon, WV, recently went to rest in peace with the LORD.

David was born August 3, 1966, in Stroudsburg, PA, the son of James Farry, Jr. and the late Veronica M. Farry.

David was 56 years old and struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 18 years. In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Mary E. Farry; one daughter, Danielle Skibber, husband Robbie, and granddaughter LakeLynn of Reeders, PA; one son Dakota Farry of Florida and one sister, Dr. Kimberly Farry of Buckhannon.

David was raised in Stroud Township, PA (Poplar Valley) and graduated from Stroudsburg Area School District in 1984 where he was an All-State football player. He was self-employed for many years, owning an excavating business and later a welding and fabricating business. He worked in the gas and oil extraction business in West Virginia until his disease prevented him from working.

David was determined not to let his disease get him down and even though difficult, would walk several blocks to town every day to stay in shape. David was a former member and officer in the Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of the Adrian, WV Volunteer Fire Department, an EMT and Officer with the former General Ambulance Company in Stroudsburg, PA, and a member of the Upshur County, WV Citizens Corps.

David loved flying airplanes and helicopters and received his pilot’s license shortly after graduating from High School. He had his own plane for many years and loved to fly to West Virginia to visit his sister. David’s request for cremation has been honored.

There are no services planned at this time. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
