David Earl Phillips

David Earl Phillips, 70, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his home.

He was born November 19, 1949, in Saulsville, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas Glen and Audrey Widener Phillips.

Surviving are one son, David Phillips, Jr. and wife Jessica of French Creek, W.Va.; one daughter, Katrece Tinney and fiancé Richard Fogle, III of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Aiden M. Phillips of French Creek, Timothy Troxell, Jr. of Oak Hill, W.Va., Henry Hartley, Jr. of Buckhannon and Zackary Fogle of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Naria Siron of Clarksburg, W.Va. and Emma Fogle of Buckhannon; three sisters, Pam Healy and husband Brian of Charleston, W.Va., Joan Duffey and husband Bill of Millwood, W.Va. and Debbie Grubb and husband Doug of Cardington, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Phillips served in the U.S. Navy and was a groundskeeper for WVWC for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Friends will be received Monday, August 10, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. The Upshur County Honor Guard will perform military honors at the conclusion of the service at the funeral home.

In honoring Mr. Phillips wishes, he will be cremated following services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
