Dannie Lee Sprouse, age 73, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his home.

He was born August 27, 1949, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Charlie and Caroline Bachmann Sprouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Josie Marie Akagi.

He is survived by one sister, Linda Heaton of Buckhannon; three nieces, Donna Smith and husband Ernest of French Creek, WV, Cindy Heaton and companion Jason Heaton of Buckhannon and Christine Akagi of HI; five nephews, Johnny Cobb of FL, T. Akagi and wife Donna of WV, Wayne Akagi and wife Pam of Buckhannon, Bryan Akagi and wife Jonne of SC and Alan Baber of OH; four great nieces, Justine Heaton of Buckhannon, Ashley Mills and husband Dylan of Ellamore, WV, Katelyn Smith of French Creek, WV and Jacalyn Akagi of OH; ten great nephews, Damion Cobb of Buckhannon, Dakota and Dawson Cobb both of OH, Jevin and Ethan Akagi both of WV, Preston, Brandon, Bronte, Basha and Bryce Akagi all of OH and friends, Lisa Orsburn of Buckhannon and his Pringle Tree House Family.

Dannie was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing and enjoyed socializing with his friends.

Friends will be received Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Theresa Crites officiating. In honoring Dannie’s wishes he will be cremated following the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
