The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Friday that 1,753 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in the Mountain State. That’s a decrease of 100 since the last report.
Locally, COVID-19 cases are active in Upshur (13), Barbour (7), Lewis (4), Randolph (100) and Webster (1) counties. In Upshur County, that’s a decrease of 10 active cases since Thursday.
No additional deaths have been attributed to the disease in the last 24 hours, according to the DHHR.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of June 25, 2021, there have been 2,990,975 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 163,804 total cases and 2,876 deaths,” according to a press release.
The daily percent positive was 1.41%.
A total of 814,720 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said. That’s about 46% of the state.
