County commission identifies first of several upgrades to Curry Library campground

Randolph County Democrats will host their annual Democracy Dinner June 13 at 6 p.m. at the Wingate by Wyndham in Elkins, celebrating 250 years of democracy.

Wendling’s Food Service has joined the Buckhannon Rotary Club’s plastic recycling drive, adding about six 900-pound shrink-wrap bales a month. Rotary sells the plastic to Trex to fund inclusive playground equipment for Upshur County, aiming for 40,000 pounds a year.

Beatrice Louise Hinkle Kovach, 99, of Tallmansville, WV, died May 26, 2026, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was a retired Steptoe & Johnson employee and longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg.

Roger Dow Westfall, 70, of Tallmansville, WV, passed away on May 25, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was a U.S. Army veteran, devoted family man, and longtime ETI Pipe Plant employee.
