Community Care of West Virginia offering summer hours at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Wellness Center

BUCKHANNON — Community Care of West Virginia (CCWV) has opened its school-based wellness center at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School for summer hours.

Open by appointment only every Wednesday, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., the staff is offering well child exams, sports physicals, immunizations, and adult wellness visits.

“We are limiting appointments to these specific services to better serve our community in preparation for the upcoming school year”, said Patricia Collett, CCWV’s chief operations officer. “Parents and school personnel need access to these services in a convenient way.”

By limiting visits by appointment only, the staff is able to provide precautions against exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses. For anyone experiencing symptoms of illnesses or requiring acute care, visits to one of the local health centers is encouraged. Health centers are open in Buckhannon on Main Street and in Rock Cave. The walk-in CareXpress health center is also open in Buckhannon at Northridge Plaza. Regular pediatric services are available by appointment at the CareXpress location, as well.
