Buckhannon, W.Va. — Community Care of West Virginia (CCWV) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by an open house June 26 to celebrate its new location in Weston.

Community Care Connections of Weston, located at 133 Staunton Drive, provides quality, affordable and evidence-based behavioral health treatment with empathy, understanding and compassion.

CCWV launched its behavioral health program in 2017, in response to an overwhelming need for quality and accessible mental health services in West Virginia.

“Our goal has always been to meet the communities’ needs and deliver whole-person health care. Behavioral health is an important part of living the healthiest life possible,” said Trish Collett, Deputy CEO at CCWV.

Touching on the history of the program, “It’s amazing how a team of two mental health clinicians just six years ago has grown to a robust 60,” said Kevin Junkins, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Behavioral Health at CCWV.

“The opening of this facility will allow us to bring additional mental health services to not only Lewis County, but also surrounding counties in central West Virginia.”

The new location was created with themes of serenity and tranquil nature, reminiscent of West Virginia’s beautiful parks and forests.

“This location provides a unique patient experience that is both welcoming and relaxing, and we hope it will help reduce the stigma of seeking behavioral health treatments,” Collett
explained.

“It features state-of-the-art rooms for education and training of the next generation of behavioral health providers,” added Junkins. “We are also very excited to offer our first intensive outpatient program, which will be housed in this location.”

The previous site for behavioral health services in Weston, located within the same plaza will undergo some renovations and the nearby CareXpress will move into that space at a later date.

The new location will begin seeing patients on Monday, July 3. To learn more about services, hours of operation and more, visit communitycarewv.org.
