Charlotte W. Hawkins, age 78, of the Alton Road, French Creek, died Sunday, July 9, 2023, at her home.
She was born on December 17, 1944, at Czar, WV, a daughter of the late Carl Garland and Virginia Ruth Fox Eskew. On October 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to Denver Arland Hawkins, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 20, 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four sisters: Lola K. Eskew, Virginia Lorraine Eskew, Iona Kovar, and Loretta Kovar.
She is survived by one son Denver Arland Hawkins, Jr. of French Creek; one daughter Rhonda Hawkins and lifetime companion Ed Sundling; five grandchildren: Christopher Hawkins and wife Ashley of Charleston, WV, Nicholas Hawkins and fiancée Tori of Charleston, Taelor Sunding and fiancé Matt of Charleston, Daniel Hawkins of Charleston, and Dillon Hawkins and wife Jamie of Tulsa, OK; three great grandchildren: Ramie, Hart, and Rayne Hawkins; three brothers: Judd Eskew and wife Kathy of French Creek, Howard Eskew of Clarksburg, and Earl Eskew of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking.
At the request of the deceased, her body will be cremated. Family and friends will gather at a later date for a celebration of her life.
