Carpenter Crunch Time Week 3

In this Week 3 picks column, Duane Carpenter laments society’s growing hatred and violence, marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11, lists standings and game picks, and names Kevin Patterson last week’s contest winner.

BUCKHANNON – RIP Charlie Kirk.

Honestly, I don’t give a damn who wins or loses football games this week. I’ve had enough. When is enough, enough? We are completely lost as a society. Even last week as we debated the merits of Rich Rodriguez, someone told me they “hated me” for my take on the situation.

Really, isn’t that the problem? It’s simply easier to hate someone or now, kill someone, than to try to understand their position on a subject. Teams will win, teams will lose, touchdowns will be scored this week. I simply don’t care this week. Who wins? Who loses? Does it even matter anymore?

Evil and hatred are so far ahead of goodness and kindness in this country. I’m not sure that will change anytime soon.

And on the 24th anniversary on Thursday of the Sept. 11 attacks, may God continue to heal those families that lost someone on that awful day.

Here is the business that needs taken care of. First off, the My Buckhannon standings.
