Carl Wilson Bennett

Carl Wilson Bennett, age 84, born January 24, 1940, to the late Clarence M and Nellie G Bennett, passed away peacefully at Holbrook Healthcare Center January 4, 2025. On January 24, 1964, he married Anna Lee Perry who precedes him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Russell and Tina Bennett; one son Jeffrey Bennett; one granddaughter, Jessica Phipps; three great grandsons, Aiden & Tucker Phipps and Conner Smith; three brothers James Bennett, Bradford Bennett, Raymond Bennett and wife Connie; one sister Opal Gillespie and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Smith; one brother Ernest M Bennett, one sister Patty L Bennett, three half-brothers Robert “Bob” Bennett, Clarence “Junior” Bennett, and Francis “Junior” Washburn.

Carl was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a jack-of-all trades and a dedicated coal miner for 36 years. He had a heart of gold for his church family at South Buckhannon Mission Church in Buckhannon where he attended.

Friends will be received Friday, January 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the South Buckhannon Mission Church, 144 Randolph St, Buckhannon, WV 26201. In honoring Mr. Bennett’s wishes, he will be cremated after the service and a memorial/burial service will be held for the family at a later date.
