WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $16,467,418 for Head Start and fatherhood reentry programs across West Virginia through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“Studies have shown the benefits of a stable home and good education with regards to a child’s future success,” Senator Capito said. “While individual circumstances may differ, we should attempt to further the constructive involvement of both parents in children’s lives and support educational programs that help families provide a solid foundation for their child’s future education.

I am glad to see this funding come to West Virginia to help families in the Northern Panhandle and Kanawha Valley.”
