WESTON, W.Va. – Leslie Holley, of the Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s (SJMH) Emergency Department (ED), has been named the ICARE March 2021 Employee of the Month.

She began work at SJMH in 2011 in the Laboratory after receiving her phlebotomy certification from Pierpont Community and Technical College.  She remembers the occasion well because she was seven-months pregnant with her daughter at the time.  She then transferred to the ED three years ago as a unit secretary. Leslie’s next career step is to attend nursing school.

Leslie’s nominator was very complimentary of her and wrote, “Leslie comes to work prepared to help anyone who needs it. She goes above and beyond her job duties to care for her patients.  She loves her job and always has a smile on her face.  In addition, she always wants to learn more so that she can provide the best care to her patients. She greets patients and co-workers alike with a smile and respect.  She brings a positive and friendly vibe to the environment.  Leslie helps move patients, stocks the ED, and keeps an organized ED book…the list goes on. We don’t know what we would do without her!”

Leslie enjoys her work in the ED because it provides a level of excitement.  “You never know what is going to happen next here,” she explained.

She is very complimentary of SJMH and said, “The Hospital has always been good to me.  It is so nice to walk down the hallway and have people acknowledge me by name.  We have a small family atmosphere here.”

She is a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and is married to Beau Holley.  The couple have two children – Paisley, 9, and Kade, 7.  Her parents are Robin Prince and Nick Sheets, of Buckhannon.  The family also has a Yorkie by the name of Macie.
