Buckhannon Community Theatre brings ABBA magic to the Colonial Arts Center with Mamma Mia!

Buckhannon Community Theatre will present the popular ABBA musical Mamma Mia! at the Colonial Arts Center July 12–20, inviting audiences to enjoy beloved songs, lively dancing, and a joyful story of love and friendship.

Get ready to dance, jive, and have the time of your life as Buckhannon Community Theatre proudly presents Mamma Mia! — the smash-hit musical featuring the legendary music of ABBA. The sun-soaked, feel-good production lights up the stage at the Colonial Arts Center on July 12, 13, and 17–20, 2025.

Set on a picturesque Greek island, Mamma Mia! follows bride-to-be Sophie as she secretly invites three men from her mother’s past to her wedding, hoping to discover which one is her father. With catchy tunes like “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “S.O.S.,” and the title anthem “Mamma Mia,” this musical celebration of love, laughter, and friendship will have audiences tapping their toes and singing along from curtain to curtain.

“This show is pure joy,” said Director Dannie Stiles. “It’s a big-hearted party on stage with unforgettable music, high-energy choreography, and a story that will leave you smiling long after the final bow. We have been trying to stage since 2020 and it’s a pleasure seeing it come to life!”

Whether you’re a lifelong ABBA fan or just looking for a night of summer fun, Mamma Mia! is the perfect way to escape to a world where the music is infectious, the dancing is nonstop, and the possibilities are endless.
