Buckhannon City Council Special Session: Oct. 21, 2022

Fred Eberle Technical Center students racked up 22 top-three finishes at the 2025-2026 WV SkillsUSA State Conference, earning 11 gold and 11 silver medals among 37 competitors. The first-place winners now advance to the national conference this summer.

West Virginia has hired Davis Energy & Infrastructure Strategy Group, led by former Virginia energy director Glenn Davis, to help expand energy infrastructure and attract major investment.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s spring break trip opened with a tough 9-0 loss to Ohio power Strasburg-Franklin, as the Lady Bucs were one-hit with Kynnedy Marple’s first-inning single.

Wesleyan lacrosse fell 22-2 at Davis & Elkins as the Senators erupted for 12 first-quarter goals and never let up. Wiktoria Walska (1G, 1A) and Nyah Elmer scored in the second, but D&E’s Anderson and Berardo netted five each in a lopsided MEC win.

Mallory Moss and Brody McDaniels are this week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars. Moss powered the Lady Buc lacrosse team to a 3-0 week, while McDaniels helped the Buccaneer baseball team start 2-0 with strong pitching and hitting.

Friends of Blackwater Canyon delivered 3,000+ petition signatures to Gov. Patrick Morrisey urging the northern route for completing Corridor H. Advocates and Tucker County leaders say it protects Blackwater Canyon while sustaining the outdoor recreation economy and local jobs.
