Bobcats sweep weekly conference swimming honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan’s Arthur Assfeld and Rylee Jackson have earned Mountain East Conference Swimmer of the Week accolades for their performances last week.

Assfeld, a sophomore from Toul, France, won a pair of events in a dual meet against Notre Dame last week. He took first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.86, and then added another win in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.21. He has the fastest times in those events so far this season.

Jackson, a freshman from Greensburg, Pa., also swept the sprint freestyle events in a dual against the Falcons. She won the 50 free with a time of 25.28, and then took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.79. She has the fastest times in those events so far this season.
