Donors needed for Aug. 16 blood drive hosted by St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur

BUCKHANNON — Donors are needed for the Blood Drive scheduled for Friday, August 16. It is sponsored by St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur and will be held at the Event Center at Brushy Fork in Buckhannon.

The blood will be drawn by Vitalant, the blood supplier for St. Joseph’s Hospital and United Hospital Center. Blood supplies are critically low, so donors are strongly urged to give blood.

As a thank you for donating, blood donors will receive a $10 gift card as part of the Donor Rewards program and will also be entered in a drawing for one of two $10,000 gift cards.

The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur will also be collecting donations of non-perishable food for the Upshur Cooperative Parish House food pantry. Items needed include canned vegetables, canned beans, grape jelly and peanut butter.

To make an appointment to donate blood, go online to Vitalant.org and use group code W4310005, or call 1-412-209-7000.
