Betty J. Humphreys

Betty J. Humphreys, 96, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died Friday, August 6, 2021, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born February 19, 1925, in Braxton County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Cameron Kendrick and Eva Lucille McConkey Mollohan. On October 19, 1945, she married Charles William “Bill” Humphreys who preceded her in death on February 13, 2003.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant twin son and daughter, David and Debra Humphreys; one brother, Bud Mollohan and two sisters, Sarah “Chick” Riffle and Anita Groff.

She is survived by one son, Brad Humphreys and wife Pamela of Volga, WV; one daughter, Benita Lou Ware and husband Roger M. of Fla.; two grandsons, Jimmy Lane of Buckhannon and Michael Ware and wife Donna of Ohio; four granddaughters, Theresa Samples and husband Bryan of Buckhannon, Michele Estep and husband Doug of Fairmont, W.Va., Stacy Robison of Ohio and Christina Figueroa of Buckhannon; twelve great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Humphreys was a member of The Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. She loved her family, church family and gardening. Mrs. Humphreys was a Pharmacy Tech for Super X and was a woman of many talents.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Way of Holiness Church. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton, W.Va.
