Beatrice Clara McAtee

Beatrice Clara McAtee, age 94, of Clarksburg, WV, died Monday, May 12, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born October 28, 1930, in Nutter Fort, WV, a daughter of the late Eugene Guy and Eulah Elizabeth Raikes McGinnis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Emory Dow Bennett; her second husband, Forest M. McAtee; two brothers, Samuel Thomas McGinnis and Eugene Guy McGinnis; two sisters, Margaret Longstreth and Eulah Jean Kennedy; and one grandson.

She is survived by Dana Paul Bennett of Townley, AL; Tina Bennett Chambers of Clarksburg, WV; Lisa D. Butler of Kesling Mill, WV; and April Krauth and husband Todd of Maynardville, TN.

Grandchildren: Chiquitha Cheaves Sheets and husband Tanner; Dow Bennett and wife Marly; Brittany Crites and partner Jimmy Anderson; Keisha Poloka and husband Zachary; Steven Harris; Dia Harris; Zachary; Marlena; and Zoey. Great-grandchildren: Merceas, Donovan, Zaylee, and Richter.

Mrs. McAtee was a homemaker, restaurant owner, and a member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge #598 Ladies Auxiliary and V.F.W. Post #3663 Ladies Auxiliary. Along with spending time with friends and family, Beatrice loved her church family and found joy in worshipping alongside them at The Way of Holiness Church.

Friends will be received Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 12 PM noon to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
