Basketball ‘Cats drop 91-47 decision to Notre Dame

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan (1-8, 1-5) men’s basketball team was defeated in a MEC matchup versus Notre Dame (Ohio) (5-4, 4-2) on Saturday (Dec. 10) afternoon in the Murphy Gymnasium.

WVWC Leaders

Darius Green led the Bobcats this afternoon with 14 points and brought down nine rebounds. Anthony Craven Jr. contributed with 12 points and five rebounds. Curtis Litton scored eight points.

Inside the First Half

The Falcons started the game with a 9-0 lead. Green was able to combine for five points before Kabe Ellis registered a three-pointer bridging the gap to 17-8. Craven Jr. was able to get four points with a layup and a jumper. The Falcons did not stop their intensity as they ended the half with Jaedon Willis earning 17 points. The Falcons entered the half leading 42-18.

Inside the Second Half

Daylin Lee from the Falcons started the second half with a three pointer earning him his first points of the game as well. Craven Jr. was then able to earn the first points in the half for the Bobcats with back to back layups which extended him to eight points for the evening. Litton then had a streak going without the Falcons scoring, combining for six points within a minute. Green and Jamal Jacobs were able to combine for four points putting up some points on the board. The Falcons had all the momentum and ended the evening with a victory over the Bobcats 91-47.

The Bobcats will travel to Salem, W.Va. Monday (Jan. 2) to take on Salem in a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m.
