Baseball pairings set for MEC Tournament

BRIDGEPORT – The seeds and matchups for the 2024 Mountain East Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by YES Chevrolet and YES Ford, are now set following the completion of the league’s regular season schedule on Sunday. The tournament will be played from May 8-12 at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston.
 
Tickets for the 2024 MEC Baseball Tournament are available for purchase online (CLICK HERE). A tournament all-session pass is available for $45 and includes tickets to all tournament games played at GoMart Ballpark. Individual day tickets are also available and are priced at $11 for adults and $5 for students (college and youth ages included). All tickets are general admission.
 
The top three teams from each division qualify for the tournament and a six-team, double-elimination bracket will be used during tournament play.
 
Charleston is the No. 1 seed in the south division with a record of 26-4 this season. UC is also the tournament’s overall No. 1 seed. Glenville State finished with a 21-9 mark in league play and is the No. 2 seed in the south division. West Virginia State (20-10) is the division’s No. 3 seed.
 
Frostburg State went 24-4 in league play this season and earns the No. 1 seed in the north division. Fairmont State is the No. 2 seed in the north with a 16-12 record, while Wheeling (13-15) earned the division’s No. 3 seed.
 
The tournament will get underway on Wednesday, May 8 with (#1S) Charleston taking on (#3N) Wheeling at 3:30 p.m. The second game of the day will feature (#1N) Frostburg State against (#3S) West Virginia State at 7 p.m.
 
Thursday’s slate will begin with a matchup of the No. 2 seeds, as (#2N) Fairmont State takes on (#2S) Glenville State beginning at 3:30 p.m. Thursday’s 7 p.m. matchup will feature the losing programs from game one and game two on Wednesday evening.
