Baseball Bucs begin sectional play Tuesday at UHS

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Seedings and schedules are set for the WVSSAC Baseball Sectional Tournaments. Sectional champions advance to best-of-three regional play, which begins Monday, May 23.

The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers (9-17) earned the third seed in Region I, Section 2.

They will open the sectional against No. 2 seed University in Morgantown at 6 p.m.

The Bucs dropped both games to University, opening their season with a 12-7 road loss and then falling by a 9-5 score last Monday at home.

Fourth-seed Preston will visit top seed Bridgeport Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the other Section 2 battle.

In Section 1, Morgantown earned the top seed and will host the No. 4 seed Brooke while No. 3 seed John Marshall will make a visit to No. 2 seed Wheeling Park.

Both of those games are scheduled for Tuesday.
