B-U’s Jerin Westfall earns First Team All-State Basketball honors

TENNERTON – Senior Jerin Westfall capped off his basketball career with one of the highest honors that can go to a basketball player.

The Buckhannon-Upshur forward/guard was recently named to the 2025-26 WVSWA All-State First Team. The team is voted on by sports writers across the state.

Westfall was previously named the Big 10 Conference Player of the Year.

Westfall led the Bucs to a 14-9 record in a season where they were ranked in the Class AAAA top 10 most of the year.

On the court, he led the Bucs in scoring and in rebounding averaging 27.1 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game. He also led the team in assists with 82 and blocks with 14 while being second on the team in steals with 24.

Senior Noah Lewis of George Washington was named captain of the First Team while senior Carson O’Dell of Hurricane was named senior of the Second Team.
