B-U’s Hurst earns First Team All-Big 10 basketball honors

TENNERTON – Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lamar Hurst garnered Big 10 First Team All-Conference honors for the 2021-22 basketball season.

The junior forward led the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game while also averaging 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Hurst was the lone B-U player to earn all-conference honors as they league named 12 players to the First Team and 12 players to the Second Team.

The all-conference teams are voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.

Elkins, Grafton, Fairmont Senior and North Marion all landed two players on the First Team.

Grafton swept the individual awards as Ryan Maier was named the Big 10 Conference Player of the Year and Mike Johnson was selected as the Coach of the Year.
