B-UMS XC teams run at Apple Valley Invitational

FAIRMONT – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School cross-country teams ran at the Apple Valley Invitational this past Saturday.

The Little Lady Bucs finished fourth out of 10 teams with 107 points while the Little Bucs placed ninth out of 11 teams with 277 points.

On the girls’ side, South won the team title with 39 points while Suncrest was a distant second with 88.

Lena Rose Walker was the top Little Lady Buc runner finishing 19th with a time of 16:36.3.

The rest of the Little Lady Buc line-up were Madison Knabenshue in 20th (16:.57.5), Chloe Lewis in 21st (16:57.5), Gwendolyn Rogosky in 22nd (16:58.1), Isabella Bowers in 25th (17:20.2), Mya Loudin in 51st (18:36.0) and Makenna Marsh in 56th (19:10.1).

On the boys’ side, Taylor County won the team title with 53 points while Suncrest was second with 83.

The top B-UMS runner was Kenton Stump in 30th with a time of 14:58.8.

The rest of the team was Kylan Hedrick in 64th (16:44.3), Rease Zirkle in 69th (17:27.8), Mitchell Whitley in 70th (17:36.4), Dominic Distefano in 75th (18:28.2) and Jaxon McDaniels in 91st (21:32.0).

Both teams will be back in action Thursday in the Mid-8 Conference meet at Taylor County.
