B-UMS X-C squads have solid showings at Doddridge County

Buckhannon-Upshur outshot Lincoln 14-11 but fell 3-1 in Big 10 play despite Rylen Carlyle’s first-half equalizer. The Lady Bucs look to rebound Tuesday at Robert C. Byrd.

An Upshur County grand jury returned 25 indictments in the September 2026 term, according to the grand jury press report.

Upshur County’s Sept. 14-20 sports calendar features local golf, volleyball, cross country, soccer, football and tennis. Buckhannon-Upshur and West Virginia Wesleyan teams compete throughout the week at home and on the road.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s five-game unbeaten streak ended with a 2-0 loss to Huntington, as Aidan Garmestani scored twice. The Bucs led in shots and corners and played a man up late, but couldn’t capitalize.

Buckhannon-Upshur placed three runners in the top 12 and scored 73 points to finish second at the Chick-fil-A Invitational. Gwendolyn Rogosky led the Lady Bucs in sixth, followed by Isabella Bowers in eighth and Chloe Lewis in 11th.
