B-UMS boys’ soccer recap

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School boys’ soccer team started their campaign with a 1-2-1 record.

The Little Bucs opened their season with a 1-0 loss at Bridgeport on Sept. 10.

The team had seven shots on goal.

Michael Tracy made four saves in net while Chase Wayne had two stops.

They followed that up with another road loss on Sept. 13 at West Fairmont by a 3-1 score.

Gavin Harvey had the lone goal for the Little Bucs.

Wayne made nine stops in net and Tracy had six.

The next day in their home opener, they tied Washington Irving by a 3-3 score.

Riel Figueroa had two goals and Coby Smith one in the tie.

Wayne made five saves while Tracy one in the net for B-UMS.

The Little Bucs won their first game of the year on Sept. 20 downing Philippi by an 8-2 score.

Figueroa had six goals in the win with Brady Homemma and Smith collecting the other two goals for B-UMS.

Tracy had eight saves in net for the Little Bucs.

The team is scheduled to play again Tuesday at Taylor County.
