After high school, Thomas plans to attend Fairmont State University to pursue a Business degree to eventually open his own bakery.

Visual Arts Student of the Week: Janis Childers

She is currently building her portfolio to apply for Governor’s School for the Arts.

Janis is inspired by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and enjoys creating pop art and comics. Some of her favorite projects over the years have included Inktober Mock Comic Covers and Pop-Art Lino Print.

When asked why the arts are important to her, Janis said, “The arts provide me the unique opportunity to express and share my joy and humor with my friends, teachers, and community.”

After high school, Janis plans to get her BFA and become a concept artist or a comic artist.
