Attention Upshur County Taxpayers — Assessor’s Office to review real estate

Legal Ads

The Upshur County Assessor’s Office will review real estate within Buckhannon and Washington districts, along with new construction in the remaining districts.  This will only include residential and commercial real estate.  The reappraisal is performed every three years according to House Bill 4127 passed by the Legislature in 1990.

Two appraisers with identification will be traveling in a Ford Escape and a Ford Ranger.  Cooperation with these appraisers and my office will help make this a fair and equal reappraisal.  If you have any questions, please contact my office at 304-472-4650 Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As prescribed in West Virginia Code Chapter 11, Article 3, the Assessor shall make every possible effort to accurately assess all property, real and personal.  However, it is ultimately the sole responsibility of the taxpayer to ensure that they are assessed properly.
