ART 26201 unveils largest piece of public art in the City of Buckhannon

George Washington scored five second-half goals to beat Buckhannon-Upshur 6-0 in the South Region quarterfinals. The Bucs stayed within a goal until the 59th minute before the Patriots pulled away, ending Buckhannon-Upshur’s season at 11-7-3.

Elliot Paul Harris Bean was born in Morgantown on October 26, 2026, and passed away the same day. His brief life was surrounded by the love of his parents, Joshua and Kellie Bean, and his extended family.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s season ended with a 5-0 loss to top-ranked George Washington in the regional quarterfinal. The Lady Bucs finished 6-11-3, with coach Rosie Shackleford praising their heart and determination.

Despite a 27-10 record, No. 8 seed Buckhannon-Upshur faces an uphill road in Wednesday’s South Region Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Bucs open against Oak Hill, a team they’ve beaten twice, with top-seeded Cabell Midland awaiting the winner.

West Virginia Wesleyan’s MacKenna Halfin earned MEC Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week honors after recording 45 kills in three matches. Charleston’s Sahana Rajesh claimed the defensive award with 64 digs.

West Virginia Wesleyan goalkeeper Reyna Dalton earned MEC Women’s Defensive Player of the Week honors after two shutouts and 16 saves. Frostburg State’s Cassidy Paige took offensive honors with four assists in two wins.
