Arlene Leoda Stackpole

Arlene Leoda Stackpole, 81, of Buckhannon, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2024, under the compassionate care of Holbrook Heath Care in Buckhannon.

Arlene was born in Buckhannon on July 4, 1943, a daughter of the late Albert Luther Sharp and Minnie Sothen Sharp. In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by the love of her life, Roger Wayne Stackpole; one child, Glen Jay Stackpole; one sister, Mary Ann Sharp; one brother, Calvin Sharp, Jr.; and one brother-in-law, Bill Poling.

Arlene is survived by her four children: Donna Dunlap (Rick) of Buckhannon, Dianne Lough (Brian) of Jane Lew, Robert Lynn Stackpole (Laura) of Buckhannon, and Vicki Sue Harris (Keith) of Buckhannon; eight grandchildren: Rickie (Rebecca), Brandon (Katelyn), Kayla (Chris), Bobby (Brittany), Rusty (Zena), Brandi, Cecelia (Alisha), and Alicia; sixteen great-grandchildren: Allie, Olivia, Isaak, Jayden, Mason, Kyler, Raeleigh, Tinsley, Brynlee, Braylyn, Glen, Kameron, Alisa, Keenan, Huntley, and Liam; one sister, Norma Jean Poling; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was a proud graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. After graduation, she worked diligently at the Reidboard sewing factory on Lumber Street for several years. For 20 years, Arlene served as a devoted housekeeper at Holbrook’s Health Care, where she found joy in helping those around her. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and most importantly, spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Arlene’s request for Cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home’s On-Site Crematory. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
