Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 of the American Legion will hold a fundraising luncheon on Saturday, March 28 at the post home, 16 S. Kanawha St., in honor of National Vietnam Veterans Day.
National Vietnam Veterans Day is Sunday, March 29. That day in 1973 was the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam and the final acknowledged prisoners of war were released by North Vietnam.
Serving begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. or until the food runs out. The menu is ham and beans, cornbread, drink and dessert. The cost is $5, and all money raised will be used to assist area veterans and surviving spouses.
A 50/50 raffle will be conducted, along with the sale of final tickets for a Beretta 9mm concealed carry raffle. Ticket prices range from one for $3 to 12 for $20. Tickets for a Celebration 250 queen size log cabin quilt will also be available.
A drive-up/pickup option will be available for those who purchase advance tickets. Groups or businesses wanting to purchase a quantity of meals should call before Thursday, March 26.
