American Legion Post 7 hosting two events related to VA healthcare this week

On Wednesday, September 14 the Upshur County Senior Center and American Legion Post 7 in Buckhannon will be hosting an event at the Senior Center for ALL veterans who haven’t enrolled with the VA. This enrollment is a first step in acquiring VA Health Care services. A Veterans Administration enrollment officer will be available from 10 AM til 2 PM to enroll people. If you or a veteran you know isn’t enrolled all you need to bring is your DD-214 and a photo ID.

This is a free service. If you have been rejected from enrollment in the past stop by because due to recent changes you may now be eligible. Remember every case is different and you need to check and not assume it hasn’t changed! Post 7 personnel will be on hand to assist with any questions you might have regarding other issues.

On Saturday, September 17 the DAV and American Legion Post 7 will host an event at the Legion home (16 S. Kanawa St., Buckhannon) for anyone desiring to file a VA Claim. Two VA certified Claims officers will be available from 10 AM to assist in filing claims with the Veterans Administration.

This is a FREE service, you need only to bring your DD-214 and any supporting documentation for your claim. There will be a private setting for you to discuss and file your claim. If you have a claim already filed and have heard nothing for a good while, stop in as we may be able to get you an update.
