American Legion Post 7 and the DAV will partner to assist local veterans on April 15

BUCKHANNON — On Saturday, April 15, American Legion Post 7 and the DAV will partner in assisting local veterans. Post 7 will host two VA-Certified Service Officers from the DAV who will be able to help any veteran wanting to file, or check on a compensation claim already filed, with the Veterans Administration.

This is a free service, and you do not need to be a member of any veterans group to be assisted. You will need to bring your DD214 to show your service, a photo ID, and, though not required, any medical information you may have regarding the subject of the claim. If you are checking on a claim, have a picture ID and a copy of the filed claim, if you have one.

Doors open at 9, and the service officers will be assisting veterans from 10 AM and 2 PM. This will be held at the American Legion Post 7 home at 16 S Kanawha St (next to Kanawha Theater).

If you have any questions, call 304-460-7377.
