A spring refresh for My Buckhannon

My Buckhannon has launched a redesigned website featuring a cleaner layout, improved readability, streamlined navigation, and enhanced responsiveness to provide readers with a distraction-free, user-friendly news experience across all devices.

After several years sporting the same look, we decided this spring was the perfect time to give My Buckhannon a makeover.

As we sketched out the revamp, our guiding principle was simple: respect your time and attention. Too many websites are designed to keep you scrolling aimlessly; we want to deliver local news thoroughly, clearly and without distraction.

You’ll see that philosophy in every corner of the new design. Clean lines, strong fonts and a simple color palette make stories easier to read. Navigation is streamlined so you can jump straight to what matters most — news, obituaries, sports or regional coverage — with as few clicks as possible.

You know all those things that annoy you on other websites? Gaudy, crowded designs? Videos that autoplay with the sound blasting? Creepy ads that pop up left, right and center? Fake ‘stories’ about weight loss and crypto miracles? Not on My Buckhannon. We’re proud to present our readers with a clean, minimal design.

Behind the scenes, we focused on responsiveness. Whether you visit on a desktop, tablet, phone or the latest foldable, the site should look sharp and load fast. With so many screen sizes available today, this is always a challenge, and we’re still fine‑tuning things. If you spot something that’s off — an image cropped oddly, a headline breaking in the wrong place — send us a quick email (screenshots really help) and we’ll track it down.

The biggest changes you’ll notice:

  • Home Page and Today’s Edition. A revised layout makes it easier to browse the latest top stories.
  • Section pages. The news, obituaries and sports sections now share a uniform design, making it easier to hop between topics.
  • Article pages. A clean, crisp layout improves readability.

We hope the redesign makes your daily reading more enjoyable. As always, your feedback drives our work, so don’t hesitate to reach out with comments or suggestions.

Thank you for reading — and for trusting — My Buckhannon to keep you informed.
