The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Wednesday that 429 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.
Two more Upshur County residents have died from the virus, the DHHR said: a 70-year old male and an 86-year old female. That brings the total number of deaths in the county to 29.
Locally, new cases were reported in Upshur (15), Barbour (2), Lewis (5), Randolph (10) and Webster (1) counties.
A total of 125 cases are currently active in Upshur County, according to the DHHR.
Twenty-five additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR:
- of a 70-year old male from Upshur County,
- a 71-year old male from Harrison County,
- a 101-year old female from Mingo County,
- a 25-year old male from Jefferson County,
- a 35-year old male from Wood County,
- an 87-year old male from Monongalia County,
- a 41-year old female from Cabell County,
- a 91-year old male from Wayne County,
- a 68-year old male from Monongalia County,
- a 66-year old female from Monongalia County,
- a 99-year old male from Putnam County,
- a 62-year old male from Mineral County,
- a 63-year old male from Logan County,
- an 83-year old male from Wayne County,
- an 89-year old female from Jackson County,
- a 74-year old female from Monongalia County,
- a 61-year old female from Harrison County,
- a 61-year old male from Mercer County,
- a 56-year old male from Morgan County,
- a 90-year old male from Jackson County,
- a 79-year old male from Cabell County,
- a 67-year old female from McDowell County,
- a 64-year old female from Wyoming County,
- an 80-year old male from Mason County,
- an 86-year old female from Upshur County.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reports as of February 10, 2021, there have been 2,016,368 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 125,951 total cases and 2,175 total deaths,” according to a press release.
About 14,076 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 109,700 people have recovered and 2,175 have died. The daily percent positive was 4.26%.
A total of 111,457 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said.
