DHS Foundation receives special gift from businessman Mike Ross

Elkins, W.Va. — The Davis Health System (DHS) Foundation recently received a special gift from Mike Ross, President of Mike Ross, Inc. and Ross and Wharton Gas Company. 

Foundation Director Mike Bell shares, “Mr. Ross’s donation helped purchase the first specialty, ligature resistance behavioral health bed for Laurel Place.  Designed in collaboration with behavioral health clinicians, this specialty bed ensures patient safety with tamper resistant fasteners and lockout controls.”

Located at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, Laurel Place is designed to treat and improve the lives of people ages 55 and older who are suffering from depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, social withdrawal, interpersonal conflicts, and a wide range of other psychiatric conditions.

The Davis Health System Foundation has partnered with communities since 2006 to advance healthcare through giving.  Contributions provide state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, cutting-edge technologies, and various patient assistance programs for the residents of North Central West Virginia – so that families can go beyond routine care without going far from home.  The DHS Foundation supports the programs and services of Davis Medical Center (Elkins), Broaddus Hospital & Mansfield Place (Philippi), and Webster County Memorial Hospital (Webster Springs).
