Robert “Bob” Elbie Harper

Robert “Bob” Elbie Harper, 75, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Monday, November 2, 2020 at his home.

He was born November 25, 1944 in Upshur County, W.Va., a son of the late Coy and Irma “Bun” Anderson Harper.

On December 20, 2003 he married Mary Smith who survives of Buckhannon.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters, Tina Harper-Hull and husband Chet of Buckhannon, Donna Hull and husband Donald of Pickens, W.Va., Sue Ann Dean and husband Jeff of Coalton, W.Va. and Franny Heater of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kaylee Hull of Buckhannon and Angel Cesaro and husband Pat of N.C.; three grandsons, Josiah Hull and Josh Perry both of Buckhannon and Dalton Dean of Coalton; former wife, Sandra Jarrett of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; special nephews, Zack Wagner and Corey Painter both of Buckhannon; friend, Jim Lee of Buckhannon and his beloved dog, Annabelle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex and Steve Harper; one sister, Phyllis Hoke and one nephew, Jimmy Harper.

Mr. Harper was a long-haul truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church and a member of the American Rifle Association. He enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting, and smoking his pipe. Mr. Harper loved to spend time with his family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Khan and his nurse Brandy Burkhammer for their loving care of Bob.

Friends will be received Friday, November 6, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. In honoring Mr. Harper’s wishes he will be cremated after the visitation.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses or to Relay for Life.
