Daniel Leigh (Doc) Lowman

Daniel Leigh (Doc) Lowman, 69, of Buckhannon, W.Va., passed away Tuesday morning December 24, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He was born July 30, 1950, in Buckhannon, where he lived all his life.

Danny enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved being outdoors – hunting, fishing, camping and hiking with his kids, grandkids and nieces and nephews. He loved being around kids because, throughout his life, he remained a kid at heart.

His friends would tell you he was a jokester; always ready to scare or prank someone. He just loved to laugh, and he had a laugh like no other. He cackled and if you heard that laugh you knew Doc was around.

He was a member of the Moose, the Eagles and PER of the Elks Lodge from 1977 to 1978. He often gathered for cards with his friends and family.

Dan is survived by his wife, Marianna Wodzinski Lowman; one daughter, Dreama Church and partner Richard Taylor; one son, Eugene (E.J.) Church and wife Laura; one sister, Libby Randall and husband Steve; one niece, Dr. Jen Reyes and husband Etienne; one nephew, Scott Randall and wife Darrian and sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, who he loved dearly,  Pete and Shari Wodzinski, Ed Wodzinski, Dorothy and John Hines, Florence Farrabee and partner Rob Posey, Helene Wodzinski, Tony Wodzinski, Skip Labno, Jack and Bev Wodzinski and Lucy Wodzinski; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Turner-Slaughter, Erika, Emily and Lizzy and grandson, Kaleb Turner-Slaughter, Shaun Mullins and Austin Plutt.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Dr. Roy L. Lowman, mother and father-in-law, Yvonne and Gene Wodzinski-Lantz and his sister-in-law, Reginia Labno earlier this year. Along with many others over the years. Dan will be loved and missed by many.

Friends will be received Monday, December 30, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. In honoring Mr. Lowman’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the WVU Foundation Inc., One Waterfront Place- 7th Floor, PO Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650.
