The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of West Virginia, including Upshur County.

“Mixed precipitation expected including snow, sleet and freezing rain,” the advisory reads. “Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.”

The advisory runs from 7 p.m. Sunday evening through 10 a.m. Monday and effects portions of southeast Ohio and central, northeast and northern West Virginia.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the advisory notes. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”

Some areas of West Virginia are also under a flood watch after several days of wet weather.
