Buckhannon, W.Va. — Wesleyan Engaging Leaders through Education, Awareness, and Development (WE LEAD) Peer Council at West Virginia Wesleyan College announces a free community dinner at the Upshur County Parish House located at 68 College Avenue in Buckhannon.

Sponsored by WE LEAD poverty reduction team, the dinner will be Saturday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. This month the meal includes chicken tacos with a side of rice and pudding for dessert.

WE LEAD is a student group that applies leadership skills to organize service events related to societal issues. Each WE LEAD “issue team” has two or more student leaders who work with their peers, faculty, and staff members to: understand the various (and sometimes competing) aspects of their issue, offer service and awareness projects to contribute to the problem’s solution, and raise consciousness about its existence to the Wesleyan community at large. The poverty reduction team hosts monthly dinners free to anyone within the Buckhannon/ Upshur community.
