Bridgeport, W.Va. – As another academic year comes to an end, twelve college students will continue learning through experiential, summer internships at Dominion Energy’s W.Va. locations.

Students will be given many opportunities in the field touring compression stations, storage fields and finding solutions for real world challenges. During the three month program, interns will be introduced to a variety of operational components including: geological services, natural gas storage, interstate pipeline systems, gas control, pipeline integrity, environmental conservation, innovation and technology. In addition, students are mentored in office etiquette, safety standards and professional development.

Interns will also participate in two volunteer events scheduled at the Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown and the Harrison County United Way’s Day of Action. “Dominion Energy believes all employees, including interns, be given opportunities to live out our commitment to give back in the communities where we serve,” KelliJo McNemar, staffing specialist for Dominion Energy said. Students will also enjoy scheduled networking activities.

Participants in this year’s W.Va. internship class come from Marietta College, Ohio State University, Pierpont Community and Technical College, Virginia Commonwealth University and West Virginia University.
