Rose Foster


Rose Foster, 84, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, April 21, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born April 13, 1935, in Boulder, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Lucille Evix Thorne.

On Nov. 7, 1959, she married Charles Foster, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Dale Thorne and wife Teena of Buckhannon; one daughter, Donna Foster Critchfield of Buckhannon; two grandsons, James M. Baldwin and wife Grace of Morgantown, W.Va. and Cason D. Thorne and partner Mandy Sandy of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Kelley J. Frye and husband Dr. Ben Frye of Morgantown; two step grandsons, Aaron Critchfield and wife Lisa of Buckhannon and Tyler Critchfield and wife Dami of Morgantown; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Banks Baldwin and Makenzie and Grady Frye all of Morgantown and Deacon and Braylynn Thorne of Buckhannon; one sister, Carolyn Sue Karickhoff of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Ron and Jim Thorne and three sisters, Shirley Shreeve, Joanne Starcher and Emmajean Huffman.

Mrs. Foster was a member of the Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 Ladies Aux. She loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Foster retired from Moore Business Forms after 20 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector and was a Methodist by Faith.

Friends will be received Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
