Judith Ann Gregory Bennett

Judith Ann Gregory Bennett was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior and a multitude of family and friends on March 4, 2019.

She was born in Webster Springs on March 26, 1937 to Arlin Gregory and Cora “Blanche” Perrine Gregory. On May 27, 1955 she was united in marriage to Jimmie A. Bennett. They were each other’s best friend and faithful companion until Jimmie’s death on Oct. 2, 2007.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Joey A. Bennett, one brother, Robert Gregory, and daughter in law Brenda Bennett.

She leaves behind one daughter, Janet Bennett McDaniels and husband Ed; one son, Jeff Bennett and wife Lisa; one daughter-in-law, Sue Bennett Kitzmiller and husband Rick all of Buckhannon.

She was lovingly known as Meme to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They include, Matt McDaniels and wife Becky, Andrew McDaniels and wife Laura all of Buckhannon, Amy Thorne and husband Andy of Pace Florida, Tyler Bennett and fiancée Allaina Hope of Buckhannon, Whitney Bennett Marsh and husband Derek of Buckhannon, Alexis McDaniels Cooper of Belington, Jonathan McDaniels of Williamson W.Va., Cora McDaniels of Buckhannon and Jacob Miller of Morgantown. Great-grandchildren include Shelby and Brody McDaniels, Jaxon and Avery McDaniels, Owen and Joey Thorne, Sawyer and Rylan Marsh, Kinsley and Olivia Cooper, and Dalton Bennett.

Also surviving is one brother, Richard Gregory and wife Carol of Ohio, one sister, Jane Coprio and husband John of Webster County and her longtime friend, Judy McDaniels.

She was a proud member of the 1955 graduating class of Webster Springs High School. She was employed at Professional Credit Service where she served as the office manager for 17 years. She retired as the Admittance Clerk at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Judy was dedicated to her family, friends and her faith. She loved planning and attending class and family reunions.  She and Jim were diligent in their planning of the Bennett Reunion held yearly at “the camp.” They were also involved with the planning and preparation of the Point Mountain Reunion and the Perrine Reunion. Judy was indeed a people person and that was shown wherever life took her.

Her hobbies included collecting antique glassware and proudly showing the 295 cookie jars that she and Jim collected over the years.   She was a dedicated member of Christian Fellowship Church and a faithful life -long fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The family would like to thank West Virginia Hospice who not only took care of her physical needs but became a part of her extended family. In addition, the family is grateful for her wonderful community of neighbors on Saratoga Drive, with a special thank you to Dick Curry.

Friends will be received Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
