BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan College continues to mourn the loss of beloved Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Robert Hull, who died unexpectedly on January 30 after suffering a massive heart attack. Rob had been a member of Wesleyan’s faculty since 1994.

Rob was named Wesleyan Professor of the Year in 2007 and helped initiate the Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Conference. He was known for his enthusiasm and passion for teaching and for his genuine interest in helping students succeed. He also enjoyed jogging and lifting weights.

Rob earned a B.A. in Fine Arts and a M.A. in Philosophy from Hamlin University and received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Kansas. He began his teaching career at Wesleyan and remained a member of the faculty until his untimely death.

Rob is survived by his parents Donovan and Dixie Hull of Oxford, Ohio, his wife, Megan Murray, two children, Emily Cochran and husband, Seth of Pittsburgh, and Ethan Hull ’18 of Buckhannon, two step-children, Max Bryon and Felix Byron both of Morgantown, and two siblings, David Hull and wife, Roseanne of St. Paul, Minn, and Amy Hull of Jacksonville, Fla. along with several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon in Wesley Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 9. Wesleyan will also webcast the service https://www.wvwc.edu/campus-life/events/livestream.
