Buckhannon-Upshur rolled past Tygarts Valley in a 3-0 sweep, extending the Lady Bucs’ winning streak to five and improving to 16-8. With 26 aces and growing confidence, B-U kept its midseason surge rolling while experimenting with positions.
Buckhannon-Upshur High School will induct five athletes and its 1993 boys state champion soccer team into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 3. The honorees will also be recognized at Friday’s football game, and $20 banquet tickets remain available.
Robert “Bob” Wayne Karickhoff of Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2026. He was a United States Army veteran with a lifelong sense of duty, honor, and camaraderie.

The Buckhannon Consolidated Public Works Board will forward a resident’s request to lower the Route 20 speed limit within the city limits from 35 to 25 mph to the West Virginia Division of Highways. The board did not endorse the proposed change, which is up to the DOH.
