A sister to James Hiner (Barbara) of Chicago, IL; John Hiner (Beverly) of Indianapolis, IN; Dean Hiner (Laura) of Iowa; Eleanor Patterson (Mike) of Augusta, GA; Ralph Cooley (Wendy) of Ohio; and Sandy Groves of Tallmadge, OH, Katherine was a nurturing presence in the lives of her siblings. Her bonus son, Brian Miller of Clarksburg, WV, will greatly miss their special bond.

Katherine was a member of the Sago Baptist Church, where she found both spiritual solace and a community of friends through the years. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she shared her gentle spirit and warmth with all who knew her.

A woman of many talents, Katherine was known for her culinary skills, often filling her home with the comforting aroma of her baking. She found joy in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts and homes of her loved ones. Her passion for genealogy connected her to her roots, providing a bridge between the past and the present. Her loving dog, Moose, was her constant companion and will miss her dearly.
