BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — City, county and state partners continued coordinated flood-recovery operations across Upshur County, according to a joint announcement from the City of Buckhannon, Upshur County Commission and Upshur County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Following the major disaster declaration, Federal Emergency Management Agency teams have been mobilized and are working to provide support within Lewis and Upshur counties.
The disaster recovery centers opened August 8 and are open to the public from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Officials said August 13 that the Upshur County center remains open Monday through Saturday.
Disaster recovery centers are available for flood victims seeking disaster aid. Currently, only individuals and households in Lewis and Upshur counties are eligible to apply for aid.

The disaster recovery centers will be staffed with FEMA officials and representatives from local emergency management and supporting agencies to assist people with applying for disaster aid, answering questions and submitting information to FEMA for Individual Assistance and supplemental programs.
Affected individuals also are encouraged to apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov using disaster number DR 4932 or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
